The University of Digital and AI Management (UniDAIM) has appointed Dr. Muhammad Fahad Shinwari as Professor of Energy and AI, recognizing his academic background, research experience, and contributions to the fields of energy systems, artificial intelligence, power engineering, and smart grid technologies.
Dr. Shinwari brings more than 18 years of professional and academic experience. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, specializing in Energy and AI, from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah in Malaysia. He also holds an MS in Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Engineering from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and a BSc in Electronics Engineering from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad.
His research interests span renewable energy, power systems, energy generation, smart grids, microgrids, power system modeling, and the application of artificial intelligence to complex energy challenges. His research and publications have addressed topics including renewable energy generation, optimization of power systems, AI applications, vehicle-to-grid technologies, and energy generation in Antarctica.
In addition to his research work, Dr. Shinwari has extensive experience in academic research monitoring and postgraduate education. During his tenure at NUST University, he contributed to the planning, development, and monitoring of research activities involving thousands of Master’s and PhD students across multiple campuses and institutes. His responsibilities included coordinating postgraduate research seminars, monitoring academic progress, preparing research reports, and supporting thesis defense processes.
The appointment reflects UniDAIM’s commitment to advancing interdisciplinary education and research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, energy, and emerging technologies. As Professor of Energy and AI, Dr. Shinwari will contribute to UniDAIM’s academic and research initiatives while supporting the University’s mission of preparing professionals and researchers for the rapidly evolving digital and AI-driven economy.
