UniDAIM Honors Prof. Dr. Tyler Lord Hamilton with Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarian and Social Sciences

The University of Digital and AI Management (UniDAIM) proudly announces the conferment of the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Humanitarian and Social Sciences (Honoris Causa) upon Prof. Dr. Tyler Lord Hamilton, recognizing a lifetime of exceptional service, advocacy, and scholarly contribution to humanitarian, social, and behavioral sciences. This distinction was approved by UniDAIM’s Honorary Awards Committee following a thorough review of his extensive academic background, professional service record, and sustained commitment to advancing human dignity and social justice.

Prof. Dr. Hamilton’s humanitarian impact spans several decades and includes direct service and leadership across a wide range of social and community-based organizations in California. His work has supported HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention through the Stop AIDS Project in San Francisco; literacy and youth development initiatives at the YMCA Literacy School; recovery and rehabilitation services with the Salvation Army; sexual assault recovery and prevention through the SARP Center in San Luis Obispo; hospice and end-of-life care services; mental health recovery education in partnership with NAMI and Hope House Wellness Center; and long-standing advocacy within LGBTQ+ support organizations, including GALA. Collectively, these efforts reflect a deep, hands-on commitment to supporting vulnerable and underserved populations.

In addition to his humanitarian service, Prof. Dr. Hamilton possesses a distinguished and multidisciplinary academic profile. He holds multiple undergraduate degrees in sociology, liberal studies, and behavioral sciences, as well as bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and sociology. His graduate studies include a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in government and policy and a Master of Science in Psychology. He has pursued advanced doctoral-level studies in psychology and social sciences and has completed professional and executive certifications from institutions such as Cornell University, the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights, and nationally recognized training bodies in mental health, domestic violence prevention, and recovery education.

Beyond academia and social services, Prof. Dr. Hamilton is also widely recognized for his cultural, artistic, and public-facing contributions. An accomplished performer, author, and public intellectual, his career spans stage, film, television, and advocacy-driven media, using the arts as a platform for education, healing, and social dialogue. His work has been acknowledged by prominent cultural institutions, civic leaders, and community organizations, further amplifying his influence at the intersection of culture and humanitarian engagement.
